The Wizard of Hawthorne
It seems that a tornado ripped through my hometown Wednesday night and my grandparents watched it all happen. I was walking home from class when my brother called to tell me the news. I swore he was lying. I was even cracking jokes about flying cows and Toto, but it turns out he was serious. According to my mom, my grandfather was looking out his back window when he saw a ton of debris flying over the trees. Instead of going to a safer place, he yelled for my grandmother to take a look. She ran to the front of the house and saw a black cloud approaching. Their house was OK, but an apartment building up the street got damaged, as well as the cemetery they live near, which is where Babe Ruth is buried. I’m just shocked that it was tornado. This is why we need to take global warming issues more seriously.
